**Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Business to lead our Business department and inspire our students to excel in their studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality Business Studies curriculum, leading a team of committed teachers, and ensuring that all students achieve their academic potential.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership: Lead and manage the Business Studies department, setting high standards for teaching and learning. Provide guidance and support to department staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team culture.
- Curriculum Development: Design, implement, and review the Business Studies curriculum to meet national standards and the needs of our students. Stay updated with educational trends to ensure curriculum relevance and effectiveness.
- Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging and challenging Business Studies lessons that encourage students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills. Provide support to students of varying abilities to maximise their potential.
- Student Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly. Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, helping them to achieve their target grades.
- Resource Management: Oversee the department's resources, including budget management and the procurement of materials. Ensure resources are effectively allocated to enhance teaching and learning.
- Professional Development: Identify training needs within the department and support the ongoing professional development of staff. Encourage innovative teaching practices and provide mentoring to new team members.
- Parental Engagement: Establish strong partnerships with parents to communicate student progress and address any academic concerns. Participate in parent-teacher meetings and provide regular updates on department activities.
- School Community Involvement: Actively participate in whole-school initiatives, promoting Business Studies within the wider school community and fostering a positive learning environment.
**Key Requirements:
- Qualifications: A recognised degree in Business Studies or a related subject, with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience: Proven experience teaching Business Studies at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, with experience in a leadership or management role in a secondary school setting.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Passion for Education: Enthusiastic about delivering high-quality education and committed to student success.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
