Accounts Assistant

My client is looking for an energetic and detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join their friendly, dynamic team. If you're passionate about numbers, love variety in your day, and want to work in a supportive, collaborative environment, this could be the perfect role for you!

The successful candidate will assist with various accounting duties, supporting the Management Accountant and other team members. You will be responsible for maintaining ledgers, assisting with month-end processes, and providing support across general accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities of Accounts Assistant:

  • Maintain the Warranty Ledger.
  • Assist with the General Ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end process, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Handle Petty Cash processing and reconciliation.
  • Provide Purchase Ledger support and handle miscellaneous sales invoicing as needed.
  • Answer telephones, including supplier call handling and general office backup.
  • Provide holiday cover for payroll processing.
  • Assist with ad hoc duties related to the Purchase Ledger.

Skills & Experience:

  • Basic debit and credit knowledge and an understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with solid experience in creating and managing spreadsheets.
  • Experience using Sage Payroll is essential.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all work.
  • Adaptable, reliable, and able to manage priorities effectively.
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.
