Welcome & Service Assistant

Summary

As the public face of our properties, you'll work as part of a friendly team providing a warm welcome to visitors, giving information about the property, answering questions and making sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

As part of the Growing Support team, you'll understand the value of membership and fundraising helping to support the National Trust's conservation needs through meaningful conversations with visitors.

Salary: £9314.06 (FTE £22,702.82)

Contract/duration: Permanent

Hours/working pattern: 800 annualised. On average this position is 3/4 days per week, working slightly more in the main season (March-October) and less in the winter months (November-February).

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Welcome and Service Assistant Manager, you'll be part of a team of 15 working at Beningbrough Hall. You'll work both in admissions, welcoming visitors to the property and in the hall itself, engaging with visitors about our exciting exhibitions & Beningbrough's history.

What you'll be doing

Day to day, you'll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You'll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You'll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same.

Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service.

As part of the Growing Support team, you'll understand and promote the value of membership to visitors. You'll be passionate about the work we do, and you'll feel comfortable chatting with visitors about way they can show support, whether through donations, gift aid, membership or our bookshops.
