Job Overview:

Our client, a UK-based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy located in Gloucester, is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer specialising in steel. This role offers the chance to work on diverse steel structure projects, including telecoms, rail, utilities, and radar. You'll contribute to the design, analysis, and inspection of steel structures, ensuring they are structurally sound, cost-effective, and meet industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities:

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Assisting in the design and analysis of steel structures using leading engineering software.
  • Working on projects involving commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments.
  • Collaborating with architects, contractors, and senior engineers to ensure precise design and successful project delivery.
  • Conducting structural calculations, preparing technical drawings, and producing reports to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Participating in site visits to monitor steel construction projects, ensuring designs are implemented safely and effectively.
  • Supporting the preparation of technical documents, material take-offs, and project specifications.

Key Qualifications for this Graduate Structural Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with coursework or projects focused on steel structures is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with structural engineering software (STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structures, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of steel material properties, fabrication, and construction processes.
  • Internship or project experience in structural engineering, especially related to steel structures, is preferred.
