Design and Technology Technician

- Salary Range: £12.82 - £13 per hour
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Design and Technology Technician at a forward-thinking school in Great Yarmouth. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our highly successful Art and Design Faculty, a supportive and experienced team passionate about their subjects and fostering positive relationships with pupils.
Day to Day of the role:
- Develop and prepare practical work that supports teaching objectives and enhances student learning in Design Technology.
- Manage resources, ensuring materials and equipment are ready for use in daily activities and long-term projects.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to meet technical requirements and maintain health and safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Set up and assist with class demonstrations and practical lessons, providing technical advice to staff and students.
- Maintain displays of student work and manage the archiving of teaching resources.
- Advise on material stocks, conduct inventory checks, and manage the ordering of materials as needed.
- Organize storage for tools, equipment, and student work efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in Design Technology with an understanding of the curriculum's technical requirements.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to Design Technology.
- Proficient in ICT and excellent communication skills.
- Independent worker with strong initiative and multitasking abilities.
- Relevant technical qualifications.
