Senior Project Manager - Operational Portfolio

A leading Alternative Investment Management business is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a significant workstream of change to deliver an improved pooled fund operational platform to support the firm's expansion into Europe.

  • Immediate 6 month contract with extensions beyond
  • Hybrid working - 2 days in central London office a week
  • New, key leadership role directly supporting the firm's European expansion strategy

Your Role:

Sitting in the COO, reporting to the Head of Change and Head of Operations you will play a key leadership role in scoping, mobilising and overseeing the delivery of a portfolio of Operational Change projects. Working with a small change team you will work hand-in-hand with the Heads oversee of Incident management, governance, processes, operational issues and tech issues.

Operating in part as a Programme Manager and Agile Consultant, partnering with key internal and external stakeholders you will:

  • Set up projects and epics and ensure they are structured and well governed.
  • Lead multiple streams across both business and technology change to deliver the required capabilities
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and audit compliance for delivery, change control and risk containment.
  • Ensure all benefits are clearly identified, tracked and realised
  • Prepare, monitor and control the budget and management reporting across the programme.
  • Ensure delivery involves successful collaboration across Product Management, Business Stakeholders, IT Teams, Tech Ops, PMO and other teams.

Your Profile:

The successful candidate will have a methodical, detailed and process driven approach and a proven track record of delivering a Operational change portfolio of projects. You will also have:

  • Extensive Programme/Project Management experience gained with an Asset Management business
  • A strong understanding and experience of Investment Management operations
  • Experience of Agile/iterative delivery methodologies, e.g. SAFe, Scrum
  • PRINCE2 or other formal project methodology experience
  • Sound understanding of IT software and infrastructure
  • Experience of running projects which introduce organisational and process change to business functions
  • A proactive, consultative work approach. Comfortable "rolling up your sleeves" and getting stuck into the analysis and delivery but equally possess the gravitas and confidence presenting to senior level stakeholders
