Job Title: Business Support Officer

Salary: Circa £26,000 depending on experience + bonus and benefits

Location: Bolton

Dynamic (hybrid) working: We offer a blended approach to home and office working, meeting the needs of the employee, the team and the business. This role will require you to be onsite 2-3 days a week, some weeks may vary.

The opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organised and efficient individual to join the UK Support Function (UKSF) team. A new exciting capability environment has been created at our Bolton office, bringing greater engineering teams together in one place. You will need to exhibit a high level of resilience, have excellent communication and organisation skills and attention to detail. This is a new role to the UKSF and would require someone with the ability to influence others, and focus on building key relationships which is key to success in this role.

The Role (but not limited to)

  • Will be based in our Bolton office, however, flexibility to travel to other sites may occasionally be required
  • Work alongside a fantastic team of BSO's based in Bolton, and across our UK Sites
  • Core duties such as managing complex diaries, extensive travel arrangements and expenses
  • Organise meetings, events, workshops, training days, participate when required and take and manage actions
  • Assist the project and/or functional population to optimise efficiency throughout the business
  • Assisting new starters within the Engineering teams and the on boarding process
  • Raise purchase orders, and order IT equipment
  • Develop to become the knowledge point of contact within the project and/or function
  • Provide pro-active, accurate and comprehensive support to the Senior Management teams within Missile Architecture and wider Engineering teams
  • Point of contact for a large team of engineers.
  • Managing day to day desk bookings for the office area and act as a floorplate coordinator
  • Create and maintain MS Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, MS Word documents accurately, knowledge of One Note would be an advantage
  • Be practical and influential within the teams they support
  • Have great communication skills both written and verbal
  • Building and maintain stakeholder networks within the engineering team and the UKSF
  • Participate in process improvement activities
  • Participation in UK Support Function initiatives and personal development initiatives
  • The role requires a high level of accountability, integrity, resilience and the ability to work within a team
  • Understanding and utilising MBDA tools/systems
