Harmonic are excited to be working with a renowned Games Developer & Publisher in their search for a Finance Manager to play a key role in building and overseeing the finance function of one of their newly acquired studios.

With an impressive growth trajectory, the business is a major player within the Online & Mobile Games space that has grown significantly in recent years through organic growth and M&A activity. As Finance Manager for one of their newest studio acquisitions, you'll be working closely with a talented Founding team with a track record of multiple successful game releases that have attracted millions of players globally.

Based out of their creative and vibrant Central London office, this role offers flexibility to work from home for two days a week with regular team social activities.

The Role

As the Finance Manager, you will lead the finance function of the studio and have the opportunity to truly shape the financial processes and controls of the company from the ground up. Reporting to the founders and working closely with the Group Finance team, you will be responsible for various aspects of financial management, including IFRS reporting, finance operations, commercial finance/FP&A, tax, treasury, internal controls, and governance. This role is critical to the ongoing management and growth of the studio; and provides the opportunity to bring real finance process improvement and finance insight into its business performance and growth opportunities.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the founders and working alongside the Group CFO and finance teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing a new in-house finance process to ensure smooth operations, strong control environment, timely payments and collections, and adequate financial information for external stakeholders.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and periodic reforecast process, manage operating and capital expenditure, identify and action revenue opportunities, provide financial guidance and insight
  • Maintain strong internal controls to ensure financial data accuracy and integrity.
  • Establishing a new process for preparing monthly IFRS reports and annual audited financial statements, leading the relationship with external auditors and ensuring compliance with IFRS standards
  • Oversee tax compliance, liquidity management, and IFRS taxation accounting, gradually transitioning responsibilities from the existing external accounting firm.
  • Use accounting software and other financial systems to streamline processes.

What we need to see (Essential):

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • A problem solver able to build new processes and constantly adapt the finance function to remain relevant to the needs of the fast-growing studio
  • Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset, able to build effective relationships and strategically influence key stakeholders inside and outside of finance teams

What we'd like to see (bonus)

  • Background in accountancy practice, preferably as an auditor
  • Dutch GAAPs and statutory requirements
