Supplier Quality Engineer - £35p/h PAYE - 6 month rolling contract - 4 years work - Immediate starts available pending interview - Globally renowned engineering business

Our client, a world leading energy business with a multi billion £ global turnover is looking for a UK based Supplier Quality Engineer to be based at least 2 days a week out of theit Warwick offices. The role has been moved from our client's Montreal offices as 90% of the supply chain is UK based.

What you need...

  • previous experience in a supplier quality type role in the engineering manufacturing sector is essential.
  • experience of auditing supply chain essential
  • knowledge of gas turbines hugely desirable
  • Lean and Six Sigma Tools would be useful
  • QMS & EHS essential (ISO and OHSAS equivalent)
  • Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
  • Degree in manufacturing or engineering discipline desirable

The Role...

Perform supplier qualification, product/process qualification & supplier development to provide a global, demand covering, quality assured and cost effective supply base for the components within a certain commodity.

Introduce, maintain and improve the Supplier Quality Management System, implement and track measures and activities to ensure the requested quality of the supplied components and services.

Provides supplier quality performance data to ensure a meaningful supplier performance evaluation

  • Interact with Customer Facing businesses to investigate potential Product Non conformance
  • Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process.
  • Conduct improvement projects to Quality and Delivery performance improvement
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity
  • Lead component validation following Product and Process Qualification process , manage risks
  • Identify and support Cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategy
  • Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place. Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements
  • Lead and/or facilitate improvement projects to satisfy problems and improve performance of suppliers by applying appropriate LEAN / Quality improvement tools
  • Train and coach suppliers to improve aspects of their business performance
