Senior People Officer

My client is looking for a Senior People Officer to join their pioneering team. This role is integral to supporting the PSD Team and senior leaders in creating a therapeutic environment for staff and children. The successful candidate will play a key role in mass recruitment, onboarding, and the induction of new staff as we prepare to open a new site.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Lead on the coordination and transactional duties of the interview/selection process, ensuring all pre-employment and safeguarding checks are completed correctly.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of pre-employment checks, the Single Central Record (SCR), recruitment tracker, personnel folders, and liaising with various departments.
  • Track staff absences and manage occupational health referrals.
  • Support with the production of correspondence to staff and messages to subscribers.
  • Assist in the implementation of HR projects, such as Recruitment and Selection campaigns, HR/payroll platform, benefit packages, and training seminars.
  • Line manage 1 to 2 PSD Administrators and support their development.
  • Take an active role in ensuring compliance with safeguarding.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • An unwavering commitment to safeguarding children.
  • Proactive approach to work, self-motivated, and able to deal with issues as they arise.
  • Experience in administrative or clerical roles, with some casework experience.
  • CIPD qualified level 3 (Level 5 desirable) or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Office 365.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Good numerical/logical reasoning skills.
