Maintenance Manager

Are you an experienced maintenance manager with a background in the chemical industry?

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a friendly and dynamic engineering team with the opportunity to travel throughout the UK and possibly abroad.

This is a very exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to join a small but developing engineering department within a Group of Companies. Managing a multi-skilled maintenance team across all UK sites, you will have the opportunity to improve the maintenance offering and develop the team.

You will have considerable experience of maintenance in the chemical industry and have appropriate knowledge of relevant legislation such as COMAH, PSSR, DSEAR, PUWER & LOLER etc.

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Group Head of Engineering, you will be expected to co-ordinate maintenance across all UK sites:

  • Office based in Teesside, Liverpool, Runcorn, or Milton Keynes.
  • Continue to develop the maintenance offering across all production sites.
  • Ensure adherence to all maintenance legislation, company procedures and standards.
  • Work with site maintenance teams to optimise performance and improve reliability & availability of operations equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance documentation is completed properly and is easily retrievable.
  • Liaise with competent authorities (HSE, EA, BSI) on matter of maintenance, particularly during COMAH intervention visits.
  • Develop training packages for site maintenance teams to ensure competency.
  • Be the company point of contact for the computerised maintenance management system.
  • Take the lead in small, on-site projects.
  • Help develop and implement company-wide maintenance procedures and standards.

Your background...

Must have...

  • Comprehensive experience in maintenance leadership, preferable time served with appropriate qualifications.
  • Working knowledge of associated regulations such as COMAH, DSEAR, PSSR etc.
  • Good level of IT competency essential, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.

Nice to have...

  • Degree in relevant maintenance related subject (Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Experience in maintenance management for multi sites UK company.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, particularly in the production of P & IDs & PFDs.
  • Experience in the Chlorine, Personal Care and/or Food/BRCGS industry would be advantageous.
  • Previous Project management experience.
