The Role:
As Warehouse Manager, you will be at the core of operations, overseeing a small, close-knit team and ensuring the efficient running of the warehouse. You'll work closely with the Operations Manager to lead a team of Warehouse Operatives and Delivery Drivers, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and dispatched on time and in excellent condition. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with previous experience in SME warehouse management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example: Actively participate in daily operations whilst guiding and motivating your team to meet deadlines.
- Hands-on management: Assign daily tasks, manage stock levels, and oversee logistics operations, including carriers and vans.
- SME mindset: Apply your experience from small-to-medium-sized businesses to drive efficient, flexible operations and prompt decision-making.
- Maintain high standards: Enforce strict health and safety protocols while ensuring the warehouse remains organised and presentable.
- Customer-focused: Ensure orders are packed securely and delivered punctually, enhancing the company's reputation for exceptional service.
- Security and stock control: Oversee stock management, conduct stock counts, and secure the warehouse at the end of each day.
Requirements
- A hands-on leader with proven warehouse management experience, ideally within an SME environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory systems, health and safety regulations, and forklift operation.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
- A natural team player who can provide support, guidance, and motivation to Warehouse Operatives and Delivery Drivers.
- Certifications in forklift operation, first aid, and manual handling are essential.
