Trainee Sales Estimator

Our client in Tewkesbury, who has over 15 years' experience within the construction industry are recruiting for a Trainee Sales Estimator to join their ever-growing team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast-paced busy environment, with a real team buzz!

The successful candidate will be supporting the sales and contract departments ensuring that tenders are complied, cost plans formed and returned in the specified time, in line with the specification.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with new and existing customers
  • Log new enquiries and acknowledge receipt to our customers
  • Input and update job budget information into project management software
  • Update and maintain project forecast planner, updating dates and new customers
  • Assist estimating team with material take-offs from PDF drawings
  • Assist in the production of tenders and bills of quantities from customer information
  • Liaise with customers to discuss their requirements and ensure submission dates are met
  • Liaise with our supply chain to obtain best prices and quick turnaround of quotes
  • Efficiently store and archive quotes
  • Produce marked up drawings to clarify scope of works to be submitted with tenders
  • Visit customer sites and survey when required
  • Always adhere to all Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
  • Update skills and knowledge necessary to effectively carry out role as required by the company

Candidate Attributes;

  • Competent IT skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent Attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to multitask and be pro-active
  • Ability to plan and organise
  • Flexible to travel to locations in the UK with the occasional overnight stay

Hours; Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm (one hour lunch)

Salary; up to £25,000 depending on experience + 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, Life Insurance, Private medical insurance, Cycle to work scheme, potential to earn 5% annual bonus.
