Location: Hull, Leeds, UK, with frequent travel to multiple sites across the Yorkshire and the Humber Region

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

CK Foods specialises in the production, processing, and supply of premium halal chicken finger foods, pizza cheese, and dairy products. Our operations are based in Hull, where we serve a diverse range of retailers, wholesalers, and the pizza industry.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced senior leader to join the business as General Manager of Manufacturing to oversee our entire manufacturing operations, including production, quality, food safety and project management. Working alongside the Directors, the ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with a technical background in Food Safety and Quality, capable of managing our end-to-end manufacturing process activities while also taking on high-level strategic responsibilities such as budget management, resource planning, and key performance indicator (KPI) setting.

Please note this role will be based around the Yorkshire and the Humber Region with frequent travel required across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Strategic Leadership -**Develop and implement strategic plans for all manufacturing site
  • Food Safety - Champion food safety practices across the organisation. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
  • Budget Management - Oversee the financial aspects of the manufacturing sites, including budgeting, cost management, and financial forecasting.
  • Resource Planning - Plan and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal production levels and efficient use of materials including workforce planning and control.
  • KPI setting, monitoring and improvement - Using key performance indicators set by Directors and the Board monitor these metrics and implement improvements as needed.
  • Operational and Manufacturing Management - Oversee all aspects of the production process, from raw material procurement to final product dispatch. Quality Assurance
  • Team Leadership - Manage and develop employees at all levels, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and safety.
  • Process Improvement - Analyse current operations and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Stakeholder Relations
  • Work closely with Directors, Board and department heads to align operations with broader company objectives.
  • Liaise with suppliers, regulatory bodies, and customers to ensure smooth operation and excellent service delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement - Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging feedback and data analysis to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.

About you:

The ideal candidate will ensure customer satisfaction, manage staff performance, and drive business growth across multiple sites.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior management role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Food Quality background with proven experience in BRC success and implementation of Quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of food production, processing, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record in managing complex operations and achieving business goals.
