Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for delivery of procurement exercises and providing overall support to the Procurement Team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver procurement exercises in line with the requirements of stakeholders and the Procurement Team forward plan, in line with UK public procurement legislation
  • Administration of the e-procurement system, ProContract including development of Supplier Questionnaires, tender evaluations, award letters and other administration required within the procurement process
  • Provide guidance on Great Places Procurement Procedures, ensuring that procurement is performed in a compliant manner
  • Support Procurement Manager to deliver category strategies and category strategic plans
  • Analysis and recording of supplier performance and spend
  • Carry out research into specific markets to identify potential suppliers, trends and innovations
  • Engage with key stakeholders and work collaboratively to ensure value for money from supplier arrangements
  • Guiding staff on how to use internal e-systems, databases and procedures
  • Act as an ambassador for the Procurement Team

What you'll need:

  • Experience of utilising Microsoft Office
  • Ability to complete tasks in an accurate, timely and industrious manner when working under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective liaison with stakeholders to find and give information in order to resolve problems
  • Able to deliver a high standard of customer service
  • Organisation and ability to time-manage work load
  • The ability to develop and project a positive image of Great Places through personal, written and oral skills
