We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant 'Outstanding' primary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners with SEND, particularly those with ASD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with class teachers to provide tailored support to pupils with SEND, particularly those with ASD.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Provide one-on-one or small group support, ensuring that each child's unique needs are met.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages pupil engagement and progress.
- Support pupils with their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress to teachers and SENCOs.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's education.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
- Proven experience working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children with SEND.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
