Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Development Engineer to join our client based in Oakham. This role will eventually lead to a Development Manager position, offering an exciting opportunity for career growth. The ideal candidate will have an electrical background, preferably within the food industry.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for improvements and make recommendations to enhance machine and process effectiveness.
- Assist in managing engineering projects from inception through to completion, including writing equipment specifications, managing resources, implementing and monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with budgetary limitations.
- Adhere to company Health and Safety requirements and provide hands-on support to the Engineering team.
Qualifications
- Timed served engineer, electrically bias - HNC / HND Level.
- Good working knowledge of PLC and servo drive / control systems.
- Understanding and ability to work with / troubleshoot Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.
- IT literate, Competency in CAD, ideally 2D AutoCAD.
- Experience in installing and commissioning new equipment.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations and contractor management.

- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Analytical ability to approach, manage, and solve problems of varying complexity.
- Take a hands-on approach to work and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Benefits
- Salary circa £45k per annum
- 25 days annual leave, inclusive of a shutdown at Christmas plus bank holidays.
- Company sick pay up to 24 weeks (increasing with years of service).
