Specialist Portfolio Manager

We are looking for an experienced, Specialist Portfolio Manager to lead a team of highly specialised Key Accounts Managers, as well as driving the success of Ageas Insurance.

Main Responsibilities as Specialist Portfolio Manager:

  • To deliver and own budgeted GWP and COR targets in line with Ageas UK Strategy across Specialist portfolio, designated Broker accounts and the Telematics portfolio. Drive growth opportunities in target markets and segments
  • Lead, develop and coach their team contributing to a robust succession plan linked to the wider Key Accounts/ Distribution ambition and direction
  • Set clear business and personal objectives for direct reports and ensure they take ownership/ accountability for their own personal development plans.
  • Develop team members and promote continual learning to differentiate the Ageas Distribution Team from the rest of the market; become technical experts in our market, attaining and promoting a deep knowledge of non-standard products and product development
  • Deliver "best in market" account management to our Key Brokers and continue to create competitor envy
  • Build and maintain strong internal networks across the key business functions
  • Work closely with the Director of Distribution on strategic priorities and foster a culture of innovation from the wider team
  • Develop and own robust strategic business plans for each assigned Broker. Provide in depth insight into their strategic goals and objectives to ensure we extract the maximum possible value from the relationship. Ensure these documents provide a point of reference and insight for internal stakeholders
  • Provide assigned Brokers with timely Ageas strategic and wider business updates
  • 10.Provide market feedback and information that assists internal business functions
  • 11.To create the right environment and performance culture across the team
  • 12.To ensure all business is conducted with integrity, and is consistent with Ageas values
  • 13.To undertake delegated responsibilities as and when requested from the Director of Distribution play active an active role in Pricing Committees, Risk, MFD, Audit and Project participation as required

Skills and experience you need as Specialist Portfolio Manager:

  • Proven Capability in senior portfolio management role, ideally within a business development or commercially focused role.
  • Specialist Personal Lines insurance experience/expertise with a clear understanding of the Broker Distribution channel
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing account strategies and delivering new business opportunities to live
  • Proven delivery of core business targets and strategic objectives
  • Detailed technical understanding and commercial awareness of the insurance market and regulatory framework
  • Previous line management experience and evidence of people development setting clear objectives and goals to support succession planning
  • Experience of collaborating with other business functions to implement complex IT projects
  • The ability to lead, shape and influence negotiations with senior internal/external stakeholders
  • Collaborative approach to solving problems ensuring all perspectives are considered
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Data Analytics
  • PC literate especially on Outlook Word, Excel and PowerPoint
