Reed Engineering are seeking a CNC Programming Engineer to join a leading supplier in the high-tech industry, serving sectors such as Nuclear Fusion, Space Technologies, Medical Innovation, and Formula 1. This role is crucial for producing and providing part programs, setting information, and tooling information to the shop floor, managing techniques and equipment to enable effective job changeovers.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in planning and enhancing efficiency in the CNC sections.
- Ensure all CNC programs are saved and organised according to company procedures.
- Plan and specify tooling requirements for production, including fixtures and cutting tool lists.
- Optimise machining processes, especially for large batch productions.
- Provide support and advice to other employees on machining and programming techniques.
- Assist sales with technical advice, simulations, and recommendations.
- Work within established and developing company procedures in a continuously improving environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in programming and setting CNC plant, creating part programs and methodologies on CNC mills.
- Proficiency with HAAS machinery or FANUC code.
- Skilled in using EDGECAM CAD/CAM Software.
- Experience working with a variety of materials and often to tight tolerances.
- Ability to use initiative in tasks undertaken.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Positive, courteous, and flexible, able to work well within a team.
