TPP are recruiting a proactive and dependable Food Hub Assistant on behalf of our client, a purposeful charity focused on supporting communities.
The Role:
As Food Hub Assistant, you will play a purposeful and meaningful role in supporting the client's mission to distribute surplus food to food banks and community groups, ensuring everyone has access to safe and nutritious food while diverting food from the waste cycle. This is a role that offers variety, from managing warehouse tasks to liaising with partners and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing the site.
- Manage the processing, collection and distribution of surplus food deliveries.
- Complete Food Hub collections from surplus food partners, including loading and unloading of food types.
- Uphold strict food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Perform regular stock monitoring and rotation to ensure the freshness of food items.
- Safely transport food to and from partner organisations, adhering to food hygiene standards.
- Utilise loading equipment at the Food Hub, such as trolleys and pump truck.
- Assist with excellent customer service, liaising with food bank and other group representatives.
- Assist with communications with surplus food partners.
- Maintain internal communication with project manager and team.
Requirements:
- Ability to Drive a manual van with experience in route planning and navigation.
- Ability to load and offload goods.
- Good communication and relationship building skills.
- Strong organisational skills, time management and attention to detail.
- Commitment to health and safety procedures and excellent customer service.
- Flexibility to support the team, including covering shifts as needed.
