English Teacher - Preston

We are specifically working with a bespoke primary and secondary school in Preston, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to join them teaching English key stage 3 & 4 ASAP, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.

You will be required to become fully involved within the English department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL.

The role will be open to newly qualified English teachers (ECT) as well as teachers who have more experience, we pay from M1 to M6 (sometimes we can also pay through threshold if you have done so, depending on the role).

This school teaches and proactively support children who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental well-being difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. The school is a specialist primary and secondary school supporting children with an autism diagnosis and associated social and communication needs in a bespoke and nurturing environment. This school supports autistic children and young people and those who have communication and sensory difficulties. The environment and teaching approaches are bespoke and tailored to ensure our children and young people thrive and can develop their self-esteem.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in Mathematics (however, it is not essential that it is English related)
  • Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in English
  • Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
  • Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
