We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to manage and provide hands-on technical support for our internal corporate and customer-managed IT infrastructure and projects. The role involves delivering a quality 24/7 service to internal users at HQ and remotely, as well as to nominated customers. The successful candidate will be an expert on corporate servers and systems, providing technical support for IT equipment across the organisations HQ and global remote sites.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Build, maintain, and support the physical and virtual environment, network storage, backup, and recovery systems to ensure high service availability.
  • Ensure seamless integration and operation of corporate IT infrastructure for HQ, remote offices, and customers.
  • Configure server builds and networks in accordance with IT security policy and manage the security infrastructure.
  • Maintain software compliance for server operating systems and applications, including regular audits.
  • Manage the email infrastructure, including Exchange, cloud continuity services, SPAM filtering, and mobile device management (MDM).
  • Contribute to change control process and Cyber Security Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Provide fault-finding and problem-solving support, ensuring resolution and regular communication with users.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call IT rota for emergencies.
  • Assist in the management and implementation of the disaster recovery policy.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on IT products, services, and standards.
  • Regularly audit the network and systems for compliance and improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • HND/Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or at least 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth experience with virtual environments (VMware).
  • In-depth experience with email services including Microsoft Exchange and SPAM filtering.
  • Strong understanding of Windows OS administration, Active Directory, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of server and storage hardware maintenance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT Security principles.
  • Experience with High Availability environments, including clustering and disaster recovery.
  • Technical understanding of IP network fundamentals.
  • Ability to achieve Direct Vetted Status (DV).
  • Linux knowledge (desirable).
  • Experience with Blackberry UEM server or Mobile Device Management (MDM) (desirable).
  • Experience with IP phone systems (desirable).
  • Experience with SNMP monitoring tools (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Endpoint Central, McAfee/Trellix Security, WebMarshal, Veeam, Microsoft SQL Server (desirable).
  • Relevant Microsoft qualifications (desirable).
