Finance Manager

Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire our client seeks a hands on Finance Manager who is qualified by experience or Part qualified accountant to join their team on a permanent and hybrid-working basis.

This job would suit an accountant with at least 3 years' practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques, including accruals and prepayments.

A fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the development and maintenance of financial controls, processes and systems and ensure that these are in line with statutory requirements.

With exciting plans for growth over the next 18 months it really is a fantastic opportunity.

The successful individual will have an understanding of fixed assets and depreciation, with previous experience VAT.

They must have excellent client facing and internal communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and the team.

Job responsibilities:

  • Assist the external accountant in the preparation of management accounts & year-end accounts.
  • Assist the external accountant and Finance Director in the preparation of the annual budget and manage actual vs budget through all finance and accounting operations on an annual cycle.
  • Preparing and posting month end journals for fixed assets, prepayments, accruals
  • Overseeing a small team with training and development as the business grows.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls,
  • Manage all bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations, raising and sending of invoices and monitoring and reconciling all balance sheet accounts to ensure financial reporting meets regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the flow of money between the company, its suppliers and clients through the governance of financial policies and processes to ensure payments are received on time in support of the income budget.
  • KPI reporting,
  • Engage in discussions with the Managing Director to monitor and evaluate the company's financing options.
  • Cost control analysis & expenses
