Who We Need

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Engineering Lecturer specialising in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with a strong background. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in delivering Engineering T Levels, as well as EAL Level 2 & 3, BTEC Level 2, 3 and Higher Education courses. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about shaping the next generation of engineers and is committed to providing high-quality, industry-relevant education.

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Lecturer, you will be responsible for:

  • Curriculum Development: Crafting comprehensive schemes of work and detailed lesson plans that are aligned with curriculum requirements, industry standards, and best practices in engineering education.
  • Teaching & Delivery: Delivering high-quality, engaging, and interactive lectures, workshops, and practical sessions, ensuring that students are actively involved in their learning process.
  • Student Engagement: Fostering a positive learning environment by confidently addressing inappropriate behaviours, effectively monitoring student attendance, and providing necessary support to promote academic success.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Designing and implementing a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback to encourage their academic and professional growth.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keeping up to date with the latest advancements in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Project Management to ensure that course content remains current and relevant.
  • Project Supervision: Facilitating and supervising student projects, offering guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to help students achieve their learning objectives.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to continuously improve the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the overall development of the engineering department.
  • Industry Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with industry professionals and organisations to enhance learning opportunities for students through guest lectures, site visits, internships, and partnerships.
  • Resource Management: Managing classroom resources, tools, and equipment, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and effective learning environment.
  • Professional Development: Actively participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching methodologies and stay abreast of technological advancements in the engineering field.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for passionate and dedicated educators who are eager to make a meaningful impact on the next generation of engineers. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Level 5 qualification in Engineering with a specialisation in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. (Educational training up to Level 5 can be provided if not currently held).
  • Proven experience in teaching or training within the field of engineering, with a strong track record of student success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and motivating a diverse student body.
  • A proactive and innovative approach to teaching, with a commitment to continuous professional and academic improvement.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design, particularly within an engineering context.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools, including Multisim, Circuit Wizard, SolidWorks, and other relevant engineering design and simulation soft
