PCN Appeals Team Officer Admin and Clerical

Purpose of the job:

To support the development and delivery of services within the Management of Place division by providing technical and customer service assistance to the team manager on various projects in front line activities.

This post is designated as the entry level role within a defined career development structure and is designed to provide the post holder with a thorough induction in the work required to achieve the goals and targets of Traffic & Highways Maintenance.

Location: Floor Floor 2, 100 Temple Street, BS1 6AG

Rate - 12.80 Pounds Per Hour

Contract - 3 Months

Shift - Monday to Friday (9AM to 5PM)

Key job outcomes/accountabilities:

  • Ensure tasks and allocated aspects of the project are completed on time and to standards set by the team manager.
  • Assist the team manager in the delivery of the work programme by:

­ Data entry onto spreadsheets and databases

­ Responding to appeals against Penalty Charge Notices

­ Responding to general enquiries via email

­ General office and admin duties including opening and logging post

­ Liaising with other internal departments in relation to more technical appeals.

­ Occasional site visits in order to undertake checks/collate evidence.

­ Providing advice to our Customer Service Centre on enquiries relating to Penalty Charge Notice appeals.

  • Ensure secure handling of confidential data and information to comply with council policy and with the Data Protection Act/GDPR.
  • Occasionally you may be required to visit sites around the city.

General Accountabilities:

A. So far as is reasonably practicable, the post holder must ensure that safe working practices are adopted by employees and in premises/work areas for which the post holder is responsible to maintain a safe working environment for employees and service users. These are defined in the Corporate Health, Safety and Welfare Policy, departmental policies and codes of practice.

B. Work in compliance with the Codes of Conduct, Regulations and policies of the City Council.

C. To model and promote good equalities practice and value diversity across the service.

D. Ensure that output and quality of work is of a high standard and complies with current legislation / standards.

E. Ensure that all mandatory training is undertaken as required. For example - Bristol City Council's Induction, Health and Safety, Equalities, Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults. Please note - this is not a comprehensive list.
