Main Goals and Objectives of Systems Engineer
The role focuses on developing next-generation automotive electronic systems using cutting-edge architectures powered by advanced software and hardware technologies. A key objective is to create features that enhance the health and wellbeing of vehicle occupants, integrating medical and holistic wellbeing know-how into innovative automotive solutions.

Key Responsibilities of Systems Engineer

  • Health & Wellbeing Systems Development: Develop advanced automotive health and wellbeing features, such as occupant state sensing technologies, algorithms, and in-car connected services. Work alongside peers from related brands within a global automotive group to ensure cutting-edge innovations.
  • Systems Engineering: Operate in a systems engineering environment, taking a function-oriented approach to development. Act as a "Function Owner" where needed, defining requirements for complex software-based systems and collaborating with downstream development teams.
  • End-to-End Project Delivery: Deliver projects from concept to production. Manage activities including design, development, testing, validation, and release for production, ensuring compliance with cost, quality, and timing targets. Support ongoing change management and production processes.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Cooperate effectively with cross-functional teams and peers. Present regular status updates, technical solutions, and reports to stakeholders across various forums.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to company and group standards, including health, safety, and legal responsibilities, maintaining high levels of integrity and best practices.

Skills & Experience of Systems Engineer

  • Strong communication skills to engage across various levels of the organisation.
  • Expertise in design and development, particularly in automotive systems and electronic hardware/software.
  • Ability to influence and work within financial constraints.
  • German language skills are desirable but not essential.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities, with a creative approach to challenges.
  • Solid understanding of automotive electrical systems, particularly in electric vehicles.

Practical & Technical Knowledge of Systems Engineer

  • A natural affinity for technology and a curiosity about how things work.
  • Interest in human health and wellbeing topics.
  • Positive attitude, with a hands-on approach to solving technical challenges.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: A Master's degree (MEng or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or similar.
  • Associate membership in a relevant professional institution is desirable.
