Data Centre Migration Project Manager

Our client have been given notice by our physical Data Centre landlord that we will need to migrate our servers and applications off the data centre by the end of 2025.

Therefore, a programme of work has been initiated by our IT Service legal entity Business Services (ABS) to safely manage the migration of the applications to Microsoft Azure cloud hosting.

The scale of the work is large, with hundreds of applications being migrated over 4-5 waves across all legal entities, planned to be executed in time to meet the landlord's exit plans.

What you'll spend your time doing:
While there is rarely a 'typical' day as a Data Requirements Project Manager, here's a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:

  • Connecting with key stakeholders
  • Digesting complex sector information requirements from a landscape of systems
  • Drafting a plan of core activities and key dependencies
  • Driving the plan on a task basis and seeking buy-in from key stakeholders
  • Driving down business user requirements to those critical and more likely to be of most value
  • Capturing specific but critical detail and then ensuring business approval and sign-off
  • Engaging in detailed user test planning, scripting and facilitation
  • Collaborating with our data management team and working directly with our application user reps
  • Supporting the baselining and comparison of pre and post migration application performance metrics

What you'll need:
For this particular role there are some important experiences we need you to have. These include:

  • Atleast 7 years' experience of detailed information handling and analysis
  • Experience of London market applications is desirable but not essential.
  • Ideally some experience of application migration projects
  • The ability to work safely and securely at pace
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to search down hidden background detail
  • Tenacity to work in an opaque and complex environment and navigate independently
  • Ecellellent PM skills and attention to detail
