Salary: £85,000 per annum + Bonus

Full/Part, Time: Full Time

Lawes Group are currently working with a Lloyds syndicate who are recruiting for a Senior Portfolio Analyst in the city of London.

This position is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking for the route of management with secure management from day one.

Our client is open to individuals from any line of business and also will consider individuals who do not have an analytical background.

Our client is open to candidates with experience with London market experience as well as regional market.

Key Duties:

  • Identifying trends
  • Feeding back data, and reporting back the performance
  • Work closely with the PM to proactively drive improved underwriting performance via the use of analytics and propose actions on all portfolios.
  • Working with the wider team, provide recommendations and challenge backed by analysis, to ensure they meet their underwriting objectives on behalf of capital partners.
  • Creating, managing, and enhancing processes that allow our clients partners to gain the insight they require to understand the portfolio(s) and allow our client to effectively manage them.
  • Support the Partnership Team with engagement within Portfolio Underwriting, setting, and delivering against agreed objectives.
  • Monitor the partner portfolio against the target portfolio, working with the Portfolio Underwriting team to implement actions to ensure the portfolio tracks in line with the target portfolio.
  • Analyse underwriting appetite differences between our client and capital partners, ensuring underwriting appetite remains up to date based on the latest trends and within the wider market via regular reviews.
  • Prepare materials for our client as required.
  • Assist in developing effective working relationships with capital partners based on trust and in line with their values.
  • Monitor claims and market environment to ensure they are continuing to target the most profitable business and staying abreast of changing market conditions.
  • Oversee the monitoring of broker behaviour for signs of anti-selection and market dynamics, ensuring effective feedback loops are in place to mitigate anti-selection.
  • Assist the Portfolio Underwriting team with new Class, product or market assessment and approval.
  • Provide support to the Portfolio Underwriting team in the delivery of wider strategic priorities for them where required.
  • Ad-hoc analytics depending on current requirements.
