Bookkeeper

- Salary: £30,000 - £35,000pa
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join an organisation within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and experience with Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) processing.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Maintain accurate financial records and statements.
- Process CIS returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and transactions.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Assist with budget preparation and cash flow forecasts.
- Liaise with external accountants for year-end accounts preparation.
- Handle queries related to invoices and payments.
- Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of financial information.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper.
- Familiarity with the construction industry and CIS processing.
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable.
