Payroll Clerk (Part-Time)

RM Recruit Ltd are working with a brilliant organisation based in Birmingham who are seeking a well-articulated Payroll Clerk to join their team on a part-time, permanent, hybrid basis working 20-25 hours per week.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for managing the company's monthly payroll and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in SAGE Payroll.

  • You will be an experienced payroll administrator with good payroll knowledge and essentially a desire to develop your payroll capability.
  • You will be processing and managing the monthly payroll with end-to-end control.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of monthly payroll for c120 staff
  • Entering employee amendments (permanent, FTC) including starters, leavers, bank detail changes, personal data, payments/deductions, tax record amendments on the sage payroll system.
  • Second level support for HR Lead and/or Head, responding to payroll queries from employees via telephone and e-mail.
  • Producing tax information on a monthly and annual basis (P45, P60)
  • Running regular and ad hoc reports from sage-payroll for and including, HR and external auditors.
  • General administrative tasks such as dealing with HMRC queries, assisting HR Advisors.
  • Supporting year-end audit.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in a similar role with experience of managing month end procedures. It is essential for the candidate to possess experience of managing multiple deadlines with a track record of delivering under pressure. Confident communication skills are highly advantageous for this role with the ability to plan ahead and manage multiple priorities effectively.
