Social Media and Digital Marketing Assistant

We are a nationwide organisation with over 30,000 members across the UK who are now seeking a Social Media and Digital Marketing Assistant to join our existing team located at our Head Office in Farnham working as part of the wider Social Media and Digital Marketing Department. The role would suit recent University leavers with a Degree in a relevant Marketing, Media or similar discipline or those candidates who have gained some work experience in Marketing, Media or Digital and are seeking amore defined role within this sector.
Paying up to £25K depending on experience, the working are 37.5 hours per week Mon to Fri with the potential for at least one day a week WFH, with free parking, 22 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas shut down, pension and a friendly and professional working environment. Initially the role will be for 6 months covering maternity, there is every possibility it will become a permanent position due to the growth of the department.

Reporting into the Head of Social Media and Digital Marketing, you will be working closely as part of a dedicated team of three, responsible for providing support and assistance with social media creation and tasks.

As Social Media and Creative Design Executive your key duties will be:

  • Plan and schedule posts, ensuring a mix of engaging and promotional content.
  • Produce engaging weekly content for our social media platforms.
  • Share behind-the-scenes updates and highlight the personality of our HQ.
  • Collaborate with charity and brand partners for content sharing.
  • Stay updated with the latest social media trends and implement innovative ideas.
  • Promote content across various pages and groups.
  • Monitor and interact with our audience, responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
  • Curate and share daily stories to keep our followers engaged and informed.
  • Utilise platform features to increase our visibility and engagement.
  • Manage and organise content schedules, ensuring timely and relevant posts.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure all planned activities are executed smoothly.
  • Repurpose existing content to create fresh, engaging material.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar, scheduling posts in advance.
  • Develop and execute competitions and giveaways to increase engagement.
  • Research and brainstorm new content ideas and potential collaborations.
  • Contribute to group discussions and strategy meetings.

To be considered for the role of Social Media and Digital Assistant, you will ideally have a relevant Degree and if possible have some previous relevant industry work experience in social media and digital marketing, although we will provide full training. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate good social media skills and be creative, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. A competent user of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and social media scheduling software along with any experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is preferred. You should have excellent written and spoken English skills and be happy to work within a small team but be part of a large organisation.
