Come and join us as a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to help take the lead in building and optimising our infrastructure

The Role:

As our new Senior DevOps Engineer you'll be responsible for managing the setup, control, and improvement of intricate deployment processes and systems. The Senior DevOps Engineer will use their advanced technical skills to encourage new ideas, maintain system dependability, and promote ongoing enhancements for effective software delivery and operational success. This Senior DevOps Engineer will primarily focus on driving automation, implementing best practices, and optimising the software development lifecycle to achieve continuous integration, delivery, and deployment. The Senior DevOps Engineer will play an important part in a wider tech & digital transformation plan across the business

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the creation, setup, and upkeep of automated infrastructure using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.

Use extensive knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP to design, set up, and improve reliable and cost-effective cloud systems for high availability and resilience.

Set up and improve CI/CD pipelines for smooth and frequent software releases. This includes automated testing, code quality checks, and monitoring to ensure dependable delivery.

Use technologies like Docker for containerisation and tools like Kubernetes to manage deployments. This enhances resource use and makes applications more scalable.

Create thorough monitoring and logging with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and others. This gives real-time insight into system performance and health.

Work with security teams to establish strong security practices, control access, and meet industry rules. Find and proactively fix security vulnerabilities.

Support development and operations teams with technical leadership and guidance. Encourage teamwork, knowledge sharing, and ongoing improvement.

Lead using Infrastructure as Code principles, advocating version-controlled infrastructure code. Share best practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure consistency and reliability.

This is a hybrid-based opportunity with upto 2 days per week in the office.

You should be based in the UK and our Offices are based in Aston (Birmingham), Salford (Manchester), Glasgow and Crick (Northamptonshire).

Skills and competencies:

Strong experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in software development and operations.

Able to communicate with all levels of stakeholders.

Proficient in analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Expertise in DevOps methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Continuous learning mindset, keeping up to date with industry trends.
