My client in Hook is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant on a short term contract with the possibility of a permanent role for the successful candidate!

Description

  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details within the purchase ledger
  • Processing and coding of purchase invoices and employee expenses in the accounting system
  • Ensuring 3 way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts and purchase invoices
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Preparing and processing monthly and weekly payment runs
  • Ensuring all transactions are approved in line with company policy
  • Dealing with and resolving supplier queries
  • Providing regular information for cash flow forecasting and ad hoc reporting
  • Contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team by identifying and implementing improved processes and procedures.

Profile

  • Previous experience in a similar purchase ledger role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks
  • Effective communicator and team player at all levels, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively utilise a range of software and in particular excel (including pivots and vlookups).
