We are seeking an immediately available, experienced Assistant Accountant to join a fast growing information service company. This is a 3-month temporary assignment with potential for extension or permanency for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will have a few years of relevant experience and be a finalist student in ACCA/CIMA. The role is based in London City, with the expectation of working in-office 4-5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end processes, ensuring timely completion of accurate accruals, prepayments, and financial entries.
- Collaborate with the Financial Controller to prepare and issue month-end reports, providing accurate financial information.
- Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Process banking entries accurately and handle banking queries efficiently.
- Ensure invoices are processed for automatic payments, maintaining payment schedules and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the finance team on adhoc tasks to drive process improvement, offering innovative ideas and solutions.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Part qualified (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), demonstrating a strong foundation in accounting principles.
- Proven experience in management accounting and financial analysis, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions like XLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for effective stakeholder communication.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
