IT Test Manager

- Location: Hybrid – on site 1 – 2 days per week in South Wales
- Salary: £55000 - £60000 pa DOE
We are looking for an IT Test Manager to join our IT department, who will be instrumental in delivering IT testing strategies and implementing comprehensive test plans across a variety of systems. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing test plans for multiple projects within an outsourced environment and will be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Take ownership & develop the IT Test Strategy.
- Manage all aspects of testing services, including management, support, development, and delivery, as well as the management of testing resources.
- Collaborate with IT Team colleagues and business stakeholders to define project test plans.
- Lead, plan, and manage system testing in multiple, concurrent, complex IT projects.
- Ensure that all test lifecycle phases are completed, including SIT, OAT, UAT, Regression Testing, and Performance Testing.
- Supervise the testing process during the "Test Execution" phase, ensuring alignment with the project plan and providing timely and accurate reports on test outcomes.
- Analyse complex IT, business, and clinical processes to produce Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Cases, and Test Scripts.
- Develop test plans and procedures to ensure systems are stable, maintainable, and meet usability criteria.
- Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders, managing expectations and reporting on test execution and outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Considerable IT Testing experience across multiple diverse and complex projects.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment is desirable.
- Project implementation expertise.
- Contractual/Commercial awareness and experience.
- Process and Governance design and implementation expertise.
- Vendor and customer management skills.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on technical experience in Manual/Automated, Integration, and Load Testing.
- Experience of implementing Test Frameworks.
- Degree level education is desirable.
- ISTQB Testing Certification is desirable.
- Awareness of Prince 2 Practitioner or similar project management methodology.
- ITIL experience/qualification is beneficial.
- Significant prior experience in projects as a Test Manager.
