Your new role
They are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join the shared user team in the eFulfilment sector. This role is diverse and challenging, focusing on enhancing customer profitability insights to facilitate effective commercial decision-making and support business growth and profitability. Responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Data Analysis: Collect, assess, and validate financial data for customer performance and profitability analysis. Ensure accurate invoicing based on contractual terms and identify additional revenue opportunities.
  • Reporting and Insights: Collaborate with the Finance Manager to create reports and Management Information that enhances decision-making. Provide timely data operators for improved business performance.
  • Cost Management: Work with non-financial managers to accurately capture and allocate costs. Understand key cost drivers, budgets, and flex mechanisms.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators and non-financial metrics to support service delivery and contractual commitments.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, interpreting operations on a weekly and periodic basis.
  • Customer Onboarding: Assist with onboarding new customer commercials.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the Finance Manager in delivering annual budgets and customer forecasts.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Nominal Ledger Tasks: Handle nominal ledger tasks, including processing journals and cross charges.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Prepare robust balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Project Involvement: Participate in site projects from a finance perspective, including budget control, tracking, and reporting.
  • Customer Reviews: Attend and lead weekly and monthly customer reviews as needed.
  • Payroll Reconciliations: Manage payroll reconciliations.

What you'll need to succeed
The right person for the position will be studying for their ACCA or CIMA, or fully qualified AAT. They will come with a demonstrable background working in finance covering similar responsibilities. Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature and the ability to build relationships at all levels are essential. Personal qualities required include a proactive, inquisitive nature, a keen eye for detail and financial control and the ability to work well under pressure. Strong IT skills are also key.
