Location: Wycombe Hospital, HP11 2TT (and across other sites)

Ward: Pharmacy Governance

Pay Rates: £29.33

Shift Patterns: 30 hours per week, (over 4-5 days, can be flexible)

What you can add:

  • Delivery of accurate information to healthcare professionals, and to patients, in an appropriate and sensitive manner, about therapeutic effects, side effects, and potential adverse effects of medicines.
  • Managing situations and actions required in urgent or emergency circumstances, e.g., supply of medicines for emergency treatments; immediate response recalls of medicines out-of-pharmacy-hours.
  • Preparing and presenting detailed reports about governance and medication issues that may be controversial, disputed, or where multiple different views are held and consensus needs to be obtained.
  • To promote the development, maintenance, publication and education of staff on the policies for the safe and effective use of medicines in conjunction with medical and nursing staff, to meet the requirements of current legislation.
  • Maintain and develop expertise and current awareness in relation to medicines safety nationally and internationally and to act as a role model for medicines safety and become the pharmacy 'expert' on medicines safety issues.

What you'll need:

  • Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Pharmacy degree (BPharm, BSc or MPharm)
  • Considerable hospital pharmacy experience at Post Registration Pharmacist level
  • Delivery of pharmacy services to a range of specialities and to a specialist level
