Learning Mentor

Do you have a passion for support vulnerable children and making a difference to their lives and education?

LTF Recruitment is currently working with multiple schools across Coventry to appoint compassionate and skilled learning mentors, to join dedicated support staff teams in partnered Primary Schools. This role involves working with vulnerable children who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges that impact their learning. You will collaborate closely with families, parents, and teachers to identify the needs of the learners and develop strategies to help them overcome these barriers. Your efforts will focus on boosting their self-esteem and assisting them with managing their emotions. This is a full-time position during school hours, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role for the right candidate.

Duties Include:

  • Working with school team and outside agencies to support vulnerable children in need of mentoring.
  • Having regular check-ins with children on a 1:1 basis.
  • Following Children in Need (CIN) Plans and Child Protection plans (CP)
  • Supporting children to raise children's self-esteem and supporting with feelings and emotions.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess experience in a supportive role within a school or in counselling, or mentoring positions with children.
  • Have experience liaising and working alongside outside agencies.
  • Have an understanding of CIN & CP plans
  • Hold a relevant degree or teaching assistant qualification.
  • Have a good understanding of supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
  • Be passionate about making a difference to children's lives by enabling them to learn, thrive and achieve.
