Excelcare are a privately owned Care Home group with 5 care homes based across Brixton, Tulse Hill, Sydenham, Bromley and Stepney Green. We have been established for over 34 years.

We are dedicated to maintaining high standards in the properties we manage and are seeking a qualified and versatile Plumber to become a key member of our maintenance team. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall well-being and living conditions for the people who live in our services. You will be working on projects as well as responding to reported issues quickly to assess the situation ad provide a solution. It's a fast-paced role that requires consistent delivery of excellent customer service as well as high quality work.

What to expect:

Hours: Monday to Friday – 8am – 5pm with a requirement to attend emergency call outs which may fall outside of hours as we operate a 24 hour service – this will be paid accordingly.

Salary: £35,144 to £45,047 depending on level of qualification and experience.

About the role of Plumber:

  • Undertaking planned and responsive plumbing and improvement works
  • Trouble shoot with heating systems (replace pumps, blending valves)
  • Fault finding and leak investigations (drainage issues, chlorinate water tanks)
  • Repair boilers and heating controls
  • Flexibility to travel between locations
  • Ability to work under pressure and find solutions.

What we are looking for from you:

  • A Plumbing Qualification and ideally not less than 2 years' experience.
  • Gas Safety Registered – would be an advantage
  • Basic plumbing tools of your own - all materials will be provided.
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Good customer service and communication skills as you'll be working at services where we support adults and older people with varying needs, therefore respect and dignity must be adopted at all times as effectively you are working in their own home.
  • Be a strong team player with a good work ethic.
  • Have your own car/van and a Full UK driving licence – mileage and expenses will be re-imbursed.
  • A DBS (Disclosure and Barring) criminal records check which we process for you. This is a standard part of our recruitment process as we support vulnerable adults and older people.
