Swift Specialist Recruitment are seeking a Production Manager for one of our most prestigious clients based in Preston, who are a chemicals manufacturer.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, oversee and control all stages of the manufacturing and filling process, ensuring products are delivered on time and within budget to the finished goods warehouse.
- Ensure production schedules are completed according to plan.
- Ensure efficient manufacturing processes through performance of detailed time analysis.
- Monitor, review and report on Key Performance Indicators.
- Work positively and pro-actively with Engineering department to minimise operational downtime and ensure plant and equipment is maintained consistently to an audit ready standard.
- Work closely with Operations Manager and Production Personnel Manager in relation to strategic management and leadership of the Production department.
- Monitor productivity and quality standards.
- Ensure completion and ongoing review of risk assessments.
- Implement process improvements, cost-saving measures and continuous improvement initiatives (6S, Lean etc).
- Management and achievement of production targets and objectives, identifying any issues and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure continued compliance with GMP, ISO, Health & Safety and all relevant company policies and standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, safe and efficient work environment in line with 6S standards.
- Maintain effective programmes for waste minimisation, recycling, pollution control, environmental compliance and energy conservation.
Person Specification
- Experience in a Production Management role, ideally within a chemical manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of supply chain management within FMCG
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes, 6S, Lean etc
- Level 5 qualification in leadership & management
- Capable of communicating and influencing at all levels
- Proactive, adaptable and positive mindset
