What does the Clinical Chemistry team do?

The Randox Laboratories Clinical Chemistry R&D Department are responsible for the design & development of diagnostic reagent kits. The team perform all design and development activities throughout the IVD development life cycle, including product concept, feasibility/optimisation, design verification, and clinical validation to support regulatory filings.

Location: Randox Science Park, 30 Randalstown Road, Antrim, BT41 4LH.

Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08.40 to 17.20.

What does the Clinical Chemistry Scientist role involve?

This role is responsible for the development of novel nanoparticle enhanced immunoassay in vitro diagnostic devices. This is an extremely varied role that will require you to develop a varied skillset, including:

  • Development of new products in accordance with project development milestones and Randox design control procedures.
  • The operation and routine maintenance of various immunoassay and clinical chemistry analysers and analytical equipment.
  • Detailed completion of reports demonstrating rigorous analysis of results.
  • In-process testing and QC release of final products.
  • Continual improvement and assessment of existing products.
  • The accurate maintenance of laboratory worksheets, in-process testing and QC records in-line with Randox Quality Procedures.
  • Transferring of product to manufacturing in accordance with company procedures.
  • Generation and upkeep of Design and Development Plans, Risk management activities and Design Specifications.
  • Participation in internal audits.
  • Preparation and presentation of R&D technical reviews to senior management in accordance with design control procedures.
  • The training and mentoring of other laboratory staff as required.

Who can apply?

This role would suit someone with an honour's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Immunology, or a Life Science.

Other Essential criteria:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in analysis and documentation of large datasets.
  • Relevant laboratory experience.
