Senior Drug and Alcohol Recovery Worker

This service is working in partnership with local services to provide this new service, which is part of an exciting 2-year pilot, delivering specialist Drug and Alcohol Housing related support across Norfolk, a dynamic service providing support to individuals with severe and enduring mental health needs. I am looking for highly motivated, self-starting and imaginative individuals with great leadership and collaboration skills, with a can-do attitude and the motivation to change and enhance the service during this exciting period. These are key roles for the project, ensuring the service reaches a diverse range of people and delivers safe and high quality support at all times.??

What will you be doing?

  • Support individuals with mental health and complex needs to engage in the service and to achieve their goals and aspirations through individual and team work, targeted recovery outcomes-focused interventions and person-centred planning.
  • To provide support utilising a fully flexible and personalised approach which continues to build on an individuals' strengths and acting as a support navigator to make creative use of the resources available within the service and in the wider community
  • Empower individuals to exercise choice and control, offering a person-centred service led by the wishes of the individuals you are working with.
  • Work alongside individuals to develop and review robust assessments, safety management plans and personalised recovery support plans
  • To use specialist knowledge to provide Housing Related Support enabling people to maintain their tenancies and achieve their housing related goals.
  • Actively engage with people who use the service on a one-one basis, providing a comprehensive support package that is sustainable, recovery focussed and goal orientated.

Do you have the right experience?

  • Experience working with Drug and Alcohol abuse
  • Understanding of the impact of drugs and alcohol on mental illness
  • A working knowledge of the welfare benefits systems and a good understanding of housing rights in relation to social housing
  • Experience of organising and facilitating meetings and groups
  • Able to remain calm and deal with difficult/challenging behaviours in a non-confrontational manner, including self-injurious behaviour and suicide attempts
  • Caseload management

To be eligible for this role you must also have a VALID UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle. Please note that this role does NOT offer sponsorship. To be eligible to apply for this role you must be currently living in the UK with a FULL right to work.
