Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in the justice sector? Our client, a leading organisation in the police industry, is seeking a Post Charge File Administrator to join their dynamic team. This is a 10-month fixed-term contract, offering full-time hours and a range of fantastic perks, including hybrid working (after training)

As a Post Charge File Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client with the management of all file types, both incoming and outgoing, in their Justice Department. You will be responsible for coordinating, tracking, and providing documentation for court proceedings. Additionally, you will act as a point of contact between the Crown Prosecution Service, HM Courts and Tribunals Service, and the Justice Department to ensure smooth case progression.

Main Responsibilities:

Examine case files to ensure accuracy of submission and interact with officers to source any missing or incomplete documents.
Carry out initial case preparation, ensuring all documents are correctly added and named according to agreed standards.
Manage allocation of work to case builders, ensuring fair distribution and recording for management data.
Act as a liaison between the Crown Prosecution Service, Northants Police, and other agencies for case-related queries.
Handle telephone enquiries professionally from members of the public, police officers, and court staff.
Undertake system resulting on completion of court cases, including organising physical file storage.
Support the relationships, systems, and processes within the Justice Department and contribute to identifying improvements in working practises.

Person Specification:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate to a diverse range of people.
Experience working to deadlines and prioritising workloads effectively.
Strong team working skills and understanding of individual contributions to team objectives.
Proven administrative skills gained in a busy office environment.
Ability to contribute to continuous improvement and propose ideas for the workplace.
Adaptability and flexibility in a changing work environment.
Computer literacy and keyboard skills, with the ability to summarise information.
Willingness to undergo training on relevant police systems.

Desirable Criteria:

Understanding of police and court procedures.
Knowledge and experience of police IT systems.
