Property Management Accountant

Working in association with a privately-owned property Investment Company owning a unique portfolio of freehold office, residential, hotel, retail and leisure properties based in London, we are looking to find a talented, proactive Accountant to join their finance team. The position is full-time office based at their prestegious Canary Wharf location; they have a great work/life balance with a relaxed culture and genuine 9-5.30pm hours.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing business within one of the UK's most competitive markets. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role will provide the successful candidate with a great opportunity to utilise and expand their knowledge. The position is full-time office based at their prestegious Canary Wharf location.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing management accounts from books of prime entry.
  • Preparing accounting journals.
  • Dealing with intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assisting with year-end audit.
  • Preparing / assisting with the preparation of bank covenant reports.
  • Preparation of VAT returns.
  • Proactively resolving queries.
  • Providing ongoing support for the existing Finance team.

Personal Qualities, Skills & Attributes

  • A qualified / part-qualified accountant, strong candidates who are qualified by experience may also be considered with relevant Property backgrounds
  • Accounting experience in a similar role / industry.
  • Possess strong time management skills.
  • Exposure to VAT treatment in property sector.
  • Exposure to Service charge accounting.
  • Possess good IT skills, including Excel (Advanced).
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and under own initiative.
  • Demonstrate very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be punctual and work efficiently.
