The Role:

In the capacity of Senior/Principal Ecologist, you will take the lead on various projects, utilising your skills in field surveys, assessments, and reporting while assisting clients through the planning and licensing stages. You will be responsible for managing projects effectively, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and that recommendations are communicated clearly. This role requires exceptional management abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills, along with experience in supervising team members and collaborating with other professionals. Additionally, you will be instrumental in developing fee proposals and upholding high-quality standards.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in ecology required.
  • Chartered or eligible for CIEEM Associate/Full membership preferred.
  • Ability to lead Phase 1 habitat/UKHab assessments and conduct protected species surveys.
  • FISC Level 4 certification or higher
  • BNG assessment experience
  • Protected species licence (especially Level 2 bat licence)
  • Proven ability to produce written assessments (desk studies, technical reports, PEAs, EIAs).
