ROLE: Accounts Assistant

LOCATION: Medway, Kent
SALARY: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE

THE COMPANY

A successful Main Contractor within the construction industry dealing with multiple industries including Commercial, Residential, Leisure and Retail are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their main office in Medway. This company carry out works across the UK and have earned a reputation for quality on projects. This company work a 37.5 hour week and is fully office based Monday to Friday.

THE JOB

The client is looking for an all-round Accounts Assistant with recent experience in Sage Line 50. The main duties include:-

  • Timely posting suppliers and customer invoices received
  • Posting Direct Debit transaction, subcontractor's invoices, travel/material expenses and Credit Card entries and above accounts reconciliation
  • Entering supplier and customer bank payments,
  • Preparing supplier invoices with attached corresponding POs, ready for checks, and then signing off by appropriate Directors
  • Preparing and execute weekly supplier's payments list and make payment
  • Preparing wages for subcontractors, against signing in sheets and Gate times, calculating hours, ready for final checks and signing off by Directors
  • Reconciliation suppliers, customers, and subcontractors accounts
  • Sending emails for Director payments approval containing all details enable to make the timely payments
  • Dealing with supplier's quires, chasing statements and any necessary information's required
  • Dealing with subcontractor's quires regarding their invoices, preparing and sending CIS monthly Statements
  • Preparing CIS returns and filing them
  • Verification with HMRC new subbies
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns
  • Printing management accounts report, projects costing, suppliers' activity.
  • AD hoc admin when needed.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Recent experience in a similar role accounts assistant or bookkeeping position, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Recent experience using Sage Line 50
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
