Regional Sales Consultant

Location: Field Based – East Anglia

Salary: £40,000 + 15% bonus + Commission

Our prestigious award-winning client, who is renowned for valuing its employees is currently looking to recruit a Regional Sales Consultantto work within a Top 10 global life science company.

Reporting directly to the National Business Manager, you will support in delivering its strategy and annual action plan to achieve its goals. You will personally take ownership of assigned objectives and deliver on assigned targets.

The role is a self-motivated role requiring the successful individual to hunt all opportunities over a relatively large geographical area. You will be responsible for the whole sales cycle and ultimately closing the deal.

You will be expected to ensure that all aspects of any proposition sold delivered on behalf of the customer and that you ensure any such renewable arrangements such as standing orders and maintenance contracts are dealt with on behalf of the customer.

The role will demand complete visibility of your activities and actions, and you will be expected to cover territory, research new opportunities and explore all possible channels for obtaining sales.

You will need to develop a good understanding of our business and business processes and build relationships with internal stakeholders who will ultimately be delivering customer service or commercial support.

You will be focussed on quality and through the business management system drive continual improvement through your internal and external activities and stakeholder interactions.

Responsibilities:

  • To operate from your home, office and within the field and be responsible for your ensuring efficient and optimal use of your time, at all times ensuring your diary is kept up to date
  • To be able to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
  • To be able to confidently present in a concise business-like fashion to all levels of staff and customers.
  • To ensure the correct correspondence and administration between you, the office and customers is carried out.
  • To ensure your knowledge of the external pathology market remains up to date and that changes are fed back to the Sales and Marketing organisation.
  • To maintain any company property supplied to you to carry out the job; company vehicle, laptop, tools, mobile phone, etc.
  • Always looking for ways to improve on what is currently delivered and prepared to take the necessary actions to deliver that improvement.

Sales Activities:

  • Developing sales channels
  • Creating activity plan for your region
  • Phoning/emailing/writing to/meeting potential clients
  • Researching new sales opportunities
  • Quotations and return on investments
  • Closing sales
  • Reporting sales activity, success and failures
  • Identifying and exploiting all profitable business opportunities.

General Tasks:

  • Forecasting and territory planning
  • Reagent and consumable standing orders
  • CRM update and maintenance
  • Contract mobilisation process
  • Training and development

Essential skills

  • Good and effective written and verbal communicator, fluent in spoken and written English
  • life science or business university degree or equivalent
  • General knowledge in MS office products – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated / self-starter
  • Willingness to travel within the region
  • The role requires a willingness for overnight stays for business meetings, exhibitions or conferences and sales meetings
