Our client is recruiting for an experienced Service Delivery Manager with Transport Operations, where you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading transport operations to enhance service quality and profitability. Reporting directly to the Director, this position involves managing a team of 120 drivers and the Traffic Office. You will be instrumental in ensuring a safe, punctual, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of services.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Oversee the traffic office and supervisory team.
- Responsible for first-line driver management, including conducting driver appraisals, identifying training needs, and improving staff skills.
- Manage the allocation of work, lost mileage, network issues, and punctuality.
- Ensure compliance with policies, standard operating procedures, and all relevant legislation.
- Support the Director in delivering agreed plans and budgets, maintaining established levels of service and quality.
- Adhere to the Operator's Licence undertakings.
- Conduct daily KPI checks including random drug and alcohol testing, driving licence checks, gate checks, service monitoring, and depot punctuality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of British Domestic Hours Rules (Transport Act 1968 and the WTR Working Time Regulations 1998).
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email).
- Systems such as : Familiarity with Omni-das and Ticketer systems.
- Transport Manager CPC qualification.
