Our client, a leading organisation in the aerospace MRO sector, is currently seeking an A400M - Aircraft Maintenance Fitter for a permanent position. This role is vital in ensuring the effective maintenance of the A400M fleet, adhering to Technical Documentation and Company Procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by the Hangar Foreman, SLE, or LE, assisting other staff to ensure safe and effective working practices
- Ensure tasks are correctly logged and communicate any additional time required to the Hangar Foreman
- Handle the movement of heavy equipment, tooling, and spares around the site, including forklift operation (training provided)
- Assist with aircraft cleaning and maintain a clean working environment
- Service aircraft toilets during maintenance periods
- Contain any fuel and/or oil spillages
- Assist with aircraft manoeuvring requirements
- Ensure all waste products are separated and recycled appropriately
- Maintain and service scissor lifts and AAGDS vehicles to ensure they are clean, tidy, and operational
- Address and report any safety concerns immediately
- Maintain equipment in a serviceable, clean, tidy, and safe condition, reporting any faults
- Fulfill additional team responsibilities or other tasks as requested by Hangar Foreman, SLE, LE, or Hangar Management Team
- Recommend safety and efficiency improvements to the SLE
- Provide offsite support as required (e.g., AOG, Line)
- Stay updated with all Read & Sign notices concerning Health and Safety
- Understand and uphold individual operational safety and security responsibilities
Job Requirements:
- Experience in aircraft maintenance or a comparable industry, or a recognised aircraft apprenticeship
- Completed Competency Assessment at a satisfactory level
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
- Strong awareness of aviation safety
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to operate a power set (GPU)
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in aircraft maintenance or a comparable trade or industry
- Experience working at an operational aerodrome
