About The Role

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide employment law and employee relations advice to line managers and employees.
  • Support managers to hold formal meetings in a legally compliant manner ensuring that risk mitigation is at the heart of advice offered.
  • Manage and support long-term sick employees including ensuring Occupational Health referrals follow the correct procedure and support the return to work of long-term sick employees where possible.
  • Provide advice on, administer and manage family leave and flexible working requests.
  • Ensure probation reviews are carried out for all new joiners in line with company policy.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place for performance management and support line managers with the implementation of the formal performance management process where required.
  • Create, review and maintain HR and People policies and associated documents providing insights on latest legal updates and external best practice.
  • Support with the creation and delivery of training sessions to line managers to improve their knowledge and skills when managing HR matters.
  • Management of the bi-annual UK wide employee engagement survey.
  • Assist with producing people MI reports and dashboards.
  • Work closely with the Head of HR Operations and HR Business Partners to deliver our people strategy including supporting on people and culture projects including DEI, CSR, Health and Wellbeing, Rewards and Recognition, Talent Management and Succession Planning.
  • Support change programs in line with organisational design requirements.
  • Conduct exit interviews for leavers, managing and monitoring any trends that occur in conjunction with the HR and People team.
  • Provide advice on areas of continuous improvement and development within the HR and People team.
  • Be an ambassador of the HR function through professionalism and practice.

Objectives and Key Results

The key objectives will be to:

  • Supply prompt and effective support for leaders and employees in relation to HR queries and issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HR & People team and stakeholders across the company.
  • Successful management of ER cases in line with UK employment legislation.
  • Supporting leaders with the successful management of probationary periods, flexible working requests and maternity and sickness processes.
  • Be responsible for the management of company policies and related documentation ensuring all are update in line with current employment legislation.
  • Be responsible for the producing monthly People MI data and metrics.
  • Successful management of the bi-annual employee engagement survey and results analysis.
  • Ensure the end-to-end delivery of tasks and project work to support Head of UK HR & Operations and the HR Business Partners is to the highest standards and within deadlines.
  • Project support may include: Line management training, DEI, Succession Planning and Talent Management, Wellbeing and Engagement.
  • HRIS database administration ensuring accuracy at all times
  • Keep up to date with all relevant HR updates, training, and best practices.
  • Engage directly with managers and employees to support the business'
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and provide proactive recommendations and suggestions to the People and HR team.

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent (desirable).
